In Building a Coaching Culture (2014), ICF in partnership with Human Capital Institute, identified a growing movement among organizations to develop a coaching culture due to more companies realizing the advantages of such a strategy.

Buildng a Coaching Culture graphic“Once a luxury strictly for executives, coaching is now being extended to employees at all levels of the organization for developmental purposes.  In fact, 43% of organizations report employing internal coaches to work with all employees, and 60% say coaching is available to their high-potential employees.  Moreover, an extensive coaching program is often associated with positive business outcomes, including higher employee satisfaction and performance.”

An earlier 2009 ICF Global coaching study also reported that coaching offers companies a significant return on investment with 86% stating they had made back at least their initial investment through increased productivity measured by improvements in work performance (70%), business management (61%) time management (57%) and team effectiveness (51%).

We at ICF Vancouver Charter Chapter are committed to helping organizations to embed coaching into their DNA—through the new CoachingWise designation being launched during International Coaching Week, May 18 -24, 2015.

We believe we have an important role to play in celebrating organizations as they build coaching cultures which support individuals to confidently pursue new ideas and alternative solutions with greater resilience in the face of growing complexity and uncertainty, through creative and thought-provoking conversations.
