“II believe I could have a bigger impact in this world as a coach – changing lives, one at a time.” – Lily Gu

Name: Lily Gu

Coaching Specialization: Career and Personal Development, empowering young professionals to achieve more in their career and life, find their path and thrive in it.

Coach Training Program: UBC’s Certificate in Organizational Coaching

Why you became a coach: I love to add value and be of service to others – the rewards come from witnessing the learning, growth, and joy in others. I am a life-long learning believer and coaching pushes me to be a better version of myself. I believe I could have a bigger impact in this world as a coach – changing lives, one at a time.

Favourite coaching book: ‘The Coaching Habit’ by Michael Bungay Stanier, which is written simply and concisely – no need to take any coach training to echo the principles.

Your happy place: My inspiration garden, where I connect thoughts and reflect on life while enjoying mother nature.

Punctuation mark that best represents your personality and why? A colon (:) – being a connector, an interpreter for languages, cultures, or concepts, building bridges for understanding.

3 words friends would use to describe you: Clear-minded, Accountable, Caring

Advice to a new coach: I am a new coach too and I am learning EVERY DAY – let’s embrace and enjoy the learning journey together. We, coaches, want to grow faster than our clients – a good challenge for ourselves!
