I was thrilled to be asked to write a piece for the newsletter on what my vision is for programs in 2016, particularly with membership renewal coming up.
Prior to serving on the board, I confess; my attitude towards my membership was rather complacent. When an event or chapter meeting came up, I qualified my attendance by what was being offered, failing to look at a bigger picture. Now, as a member of the board with the responsibility for programs, I want to ensure there aren’t others out there like myself! I missed the added value that was always present, but that I inadvertently overlooked.
I have big shoes to fill, but I am up to the task. My vision as your programs director is to continue to provide a robust slate of programs that also align with the International Coach Federation’s (ICF) mission. With a renewed attitude and perception of the value membership offers, I am so inspired to bring these benefits to your attention.
So, what are they?
1. To begin, the ICF is the largest global resource available for professional coaches and for those in search of a coach, as well as dedicated to advancing the coaching profession. This has only been achievable through its development of high professional standards, certifications, and a growing network of credentialed coaches.
2. Next, as a member of the Vancouver ICF Charter Chapter, you have many benefits. Aligning with the Global ICF, Vancouver ICF is uniquely positioned to have a personalized approach as it reaches out to members. A goal of ICF Vancouver in 2016 is to provide the membership with meaningful value.
Through your feedback in the recent member survey we have designed a programs slate for 2016 that highlights current trends in the industry and offers professional development opportunities through today’s skilled thought leaders.
3. Another benefit of your membership is the CCEUs made available with various programs that contribute to your membership renewal requirements. Are you aware that by taking advantage of the early bird pricing, you could save at least $80 this year?
4. Finally, although not finalized, a variety of forums are currently on the table for consideration of the delivery of programs. The goal is to reach out to members near and far. Currently, there are both in-house and webinars on the slate. Also, we are considering the benefits to varying the location of specific meetings. Acknowledging the relational side of coaching, there will be a greater intention to cultivate that community as we finalize programs for 2016.
Professionalism and community is my mission for you as Vancouver ICF chapter members. The upcoming year is planned to give you value and opportunity. Personally, I want you to experience the added value your membership brings through the programs offered. My goal is to invigorate your personal best coaching through this year’s calendar!
Please introduce yourself to me. I look forward to meeting you.
